The 2013 Shinfield 10Km is to be held on
May Day Bank Holiday Monday - 6th May 2013 at 09:30am
(Please note the earlier start time of 09:30am )
together with two Childrens races of 3.6Km and 2.1Km at 11:00am and 11:45am

This is the 29th running of this popular event organised by Reading Roadrunners in conjunction with the Shinfield Association.
The closing date for entries has been extended until Monday 29th April. This is subject to the 900 race limit not being reached.
Runners who do not receive their Numbers and Race Information Pack before race day should pick them from the Parish Hall,Shinfield Green, on the morning of the race. The number pick-up desk will open at 08.00, and close at 09.00.

If the race is full this will be displayed on our website, along with any other important announcements, so make sure you check it before race day.
The 10km race starts and finishes at Shinfield Health Centre, School Green, Shinfield RG2 9EH and passes through the villages of Shinfield, Ryeish Green and Spencers Wood.
For the first time, this year's Shinfield 10km will use championchip timing, giving speedy and accurate results, including the option for those who enter online of texting them to your mobile phone.
There will be a memento for all those who finish within 90 minutes, as well as trophies for the first three male and female finishers, and for winners in the following age categories: (40-49), (50-59), (60-69) and 70+. In addition, there will be prizes for the first three male and female finishers, and the first local (RG2/RG7 post code) male and female runners. There will also be a new team prize (see above). No runner may win more than one individual award.
Car parking is at Foster Wheeler, Shinfield Park, Shinfield, Reading RG2 9FW only. This is about a 20 minute walk to the start so please make sure you arrive in plenty of time.
The closing date for entries is 22nd April 2013. Entry on the day will be available subject to the race limit of 900 not being reached. If the race is full it will be displayed on our website so please check before setting out. Please note the desk for entry on the day closes at 09.00am.

Entries received after the closing date will not be mailed out and can be collected from the Parish Hall on the day. Late entry desk closes at 9am.
Strictly NO Personal Stereos/MP3 players/IPOD's or similar devices to be worn whilst running, this will result in disqualification.
Shinfield Childrens Races
U16 3.6K Race starts at 11:00am -
U12 2.1K Race starts at 11:45am
The Childrens Races are run over a multi-terrain course and mostly across rough heathland, footpaths and farm tracks
Entry is £3 either by post or on the day, subject to a limit of 200 runners in each race

Please note, there are no refunds and you can not defer your place to another year or to another Reading Roadrunner event for any reason.
Any profits from the run will go to the Shinfield Association and local charities. Last year more than £4,500 went to local organisations.
