Reading Roadrunners Shinfield 10Km
"A springtime 10Km through the country lanes of Shinfield, Ryeish Green and Spencers Wood with a junior 3Km run and May Day Fete"
The 2010 Shinfield 10Km and 3Km Fun Run is to be held on May Day Bank Holiday Monday - 3rd May 2010.
3Km Junior Fun Run (under 16) starts at 10:00 - entry on the day only, see below.
10Km race starts at 10:30 - postal, online and on the day entry (subject to availability)
The 10Km race starts and finishes at the Shinfield Health Centre, School Green, Shinfield RG2 9EH. The one-lap course is mostly flat and run mainly on quiet lanes with about 500m along a footpath. It is not a traffic free course but marshals will be in place to ensure the safety of all runners. The 3Km Fun Run is off road and traffic free.
There are medals for all finishers in both 10Km & 3Km races. For the 10Km race there are trophies and Cotswold Outdoor Vouchers for the first 3 males and first 3 females plus trophies for age category winners and for the first local runner (RG2/RG7).
Car parking, baggage tent, refreshments and first aid are all onsite with a drink station enroute. May Day Fete starts at 10:00am on the Village Green.
Entries are open and the closing date for postal entries is 24th April 2010. Entries on the day will be accepted subject to race limit of 800 not being reached.
