Reading Roadrunners is one of the largest clubs in the South of England and is open to members of all abilities. We are essentially a fun running club and this is something we endeavour to bring to every track session and out-run.

Our members benefit from a large range of UKA coaches, always on hand to advise and guide individual members to reach their goals and true potential. They take group sessions on club nights offering good structured training for beginners up to the more seasoned runner.

We meet at Palmer Park Stadium on a Wednesday evening, 6.30pm until 8pm, this is our main session and the one potential new members are advised to attend. We also meet at 6.30pm on a Thursday evening for a 5.5-6 mile out-run and Friday at 6.30pm for an hour on the track. Sunday Morning out runs leave Palmer Park at 9.00am and these are dependent on who turns up!

.......Datchet Dashers Training Run Invitation - I know some of you ran this last year and said it was very well organised.  The Dashers have very kindly invited us again.
Datchet Dashers are holding their annual 20 mile marathon training run on Sunday March 9th 2014. This is a supported run that we put on for our members, who are training for a spring marathon, but members of other local clubs are also very welcome to come along, and we usually have 60 – 70 runners of all standards. The run starts at 9am from our club house in Home Park in Windsor, and there is no charge – runners simply have to be at our club house, signed in and ready to go at 9am. There are changing and toilet facilities at the club house (no showers), plus plenty of free car parking.

The route is basically from Windsor to Virginia Water via Datchet & Old Windsor, a lap around Virginia Water, and then back to Windsor. The entire route is on pavements, quiet country lanes or roads & footpaths in Windsor Great Park, and it will be marshalled at all key turning points with several bikes out on course as well. There are also 4 drink stations around the route. It is not a difficult route, but it is not flat – there are significant climbs at around 4.5 & 8 miles, and descents at around 10 & 15 miles, with some minor undulations between these points. The first 4.5 and last 4.5 miles are flat however.

Details of how to find our club house are here: http://datchetdashers.com/contacts/

I am a parent with children at a primary school in Blackheath. We are doing a fundraiser that involves providing affordable (£35 p/night p/person) and comfortable bed and breakfast to runners running the London Marathon on the night before the race with all monies going to charity.

Please could you let me know if any of your club members might be interested?
